Panhandle Bull Development

We expect our bulls to perform under any conditions, and our bull development program is designed that way. From weaning in late October until grass-time in May, the bulls are fed a high-roughage maintenance ration while running on meadows and winter range.  From May to November, the bulls run in large pastures of 400 to 600 acres.  Their sole feed source is native range - no feed or supplements. In November, the bulls are sorted into sale groups of 20-25 bulls.  For the last three months before the sale, the bulls are closer to home in pastures of 30 to 80 acres and are fed the same high-roughage ration they were on as weaned calves.

The end result is a group of athletic coming 2-year-old bulls that know how to travel, forage, and survive. These bulls are structurally sound, fertile, and have good dispositions.  Because we are a Sandhill ranch outfit, we handle our bulls horseback.  These bulls are also accustomed to being handled with pickups, 4-wheelers, and most importantly - on foot.
