The Panhandle Program

100% 1-A Red Angus from the Nebraska Sandhills

We are a “range and cake” operation where our cattle have to earn their living.  Our program is built around functional females.  Our calving season runs from late May through late July with weaning time in late October.  We don’t creep-feed our calves.  Once the calves are weaned, the cows continue to graze our native range with only a protein supplement throughout the winter.

This type of program demands cattle that are easy fleshing and moderate-sized.  We operate on 5,000 acres of Sandhill range with pasture sizes from 400 to 600 acres.  Since we calve out in the pasture, soundness of feet, legs, and udders are extremely important.  Under these conditions, we truly need trouble-free cattle.
